Pep Guardiola becomes just second boss in history to win three straight Premier League Manager of the Month awards

Another day, another measure of Man City’s dominance.

Pep Guardiola has been named has Manager of the Month for the third straight month in a row.

The Spanish boss has overseen a record run of 15 straight Premier League wins dating back to the end of August, and added City’s rivals Man United to his list of conquered opponents earlier in December.

Guardiola’s troops look unstoppable with their 11 point lea at the top of the Premier League.

And with a perfect record over the last three months, it comes as little surprise that Guardiola has bagged three gongs in a row.

He becomes just the second manager to achieve such a hat-trick with Chelsea’s Antonio Conte scooping a trio of awards for October, November and December last season.

Mohamed Salah has been named Player of the Month for November after netting seven goals in four games for Liverpool.

Everton skipper Wayne Rooney picked up the Goal of the Month award for his stunning long-range strike against West Ham.

After scooping his award, Rooney said: “I think the goal was right up there with the best goals that I’ve scored.

“It was my third goal for the hat-trick and my first at the Gwladys Street End since rejoining Everton.

“It was just a clean strike – I caught it perfect.”

Rooney said after the match that it was as sweetly as he had ever struck a ball.

On his own award, Salah said: “In the month I scored seven goals and that’s good feeling.

“The results are the most important thing and we had good results and we’re trying to do the same in December.

“We have to win something for ourselves and the fans.

“For me I want to score many goals and help the team win titles.”
