It’s reported that Paul Pogba’s relationship with Jose Mourinho has disintegrated this season and the Red Devils boss has lost faith in the £89million midfielder.
As we have seen for crucial games this side of Christmas Mourinho has preferred Scott McTominay in that midfield role instead of his France star.
The manager’s treatment of the most expensive midfielder of all time is beginning to irk the fans but thinking about it – how many great, or even good for that matter, games has Pogba had this season?

As in how many times this season has Pogba been the most influential player on the pitch, taking a game by the scruff of the neck and either provided a goal or scored himself?
I’m willing to bet right now that it is not as many as the nine different hairstyles we have seen him with this term.
There may have been more haircuts but that is the number of obvious new styles we’ve been able to count.
So let’s start at the beginning…
Happier times
Remember back in September when the season started and Mourinho could still at least pretend to be enjoying himself?
You know, before Man City ran away with the title.
Pogba put in a decent showing in United’s first game of the season against West Ham as they won convincingly 4-0.
And he followed that up the following week with a goal and an assist at Swansea as it looked like we were going to see the best out of the young Frenchman this season.

Haircut no.2 for the season
He looked OK against Leicester and set up a goal against Stoke in September but then he was ruled out for two months with a hamstring injury that has nearly railroaded his season.
Mourinho has some irrational hatred for players that get injured and their relationship has not seemed to recover since Pogba returned in November.
On his return the 25-year-old picked up where he left off with a goal and an assist against Newcastle and there was hope he was going to be United’s main man for the season.

Haircut no.4
During a home match against Brighton that United won 1-0, Pogba did exert his dominance on the midfield and put in a performance worthy of an £89million signing.
Right so with a bit of generosity we have made it to four good performances from Pogba this season, but that was before he really fell out with Mourinho.
After the crazy game at the Emirates where he got two assists and a red card (we’re giving him this one for securing the win for United) we can count just two more good games before Pogba felt the full force of Mourinho’s cold shoulder.

He helped the team to a good result away at Everton and chipped in with assists for Anthony Martial and bessie m8 Jesse Lingard.
Then in the middle of January the United academy man racked up his highest WhoScored.Com rating since November with another two assists and a man of the match performance against Stoke in the league.
Since then not only has Pogba failed to exert his influence on the big games, like Sevilla in the Champions League for example, he has struggled to get any game time at all as Mourinho favours young McTominay instead of his supposedly star player.
Haircut no.8 was one of the best
So, the results are in and the scores have been independently adjudicated and we can reveal right now Pogba has had more different haircuts than he has decent games for United season.
As we counted it, it’s seven good performance for the Red Devils compared to his nine different trims.
Promise us right now you won’t tell Garth.
