Germany’s No8 inadvertently played the assist for South Korea’s opening goal in their dramatic 2-0 win over the current world champions.
Kim Young-gwon tapped home from close range in the 92nd minute and initially saw his effort ruled out for offside.
The officials originally believed that a South Korean player had got the last touch on the ball before it reached the goalscorer. The decision then went to VAR.
The review correctly picked up that the final touch through to Kim Young-gwon actually came off last week’s hero, Kroos. Awkward.
The Real Madrid man unintentionally nut-mugged his teammate Niklas Sule and assisted the goal that all but knocked Germany out of the World Cup.
Close your legs, SuleKroos has famously worn the same pair of boots for the last four years, earning the respect of football hipsters all around the globe.
His lucky boots have cost him on this occasion however and they could well be dumped after this blunder.

Germany were committing everyone forward as the final whistle approached. Even Manuel Neuer joined in and decided to become an outfield player once again.
The Bayern man left his goal and allowed Spurs’ Son Heung-min to tap home into an empty net.
