Fred joins hilariously illustrious list of Brazilians to score for Man United
For such an illustrious footballing nation, Man United have had some pretty dodgy Brazilians down the years.
So their latest Brazilian Fred will be hoping to give his country a better name after his £52m move this summer.
Fred has shown flashes of what he can offer this season whilst simultaneously worrying United fans with his discipline, something that has been an issue throughout his career.

And he opened his Red Devils account against Wolves on Saturday.
Pouncing on a clever reverse pass from Paul Pogba, the Brazilian midfielder tucked a neat first-time finish into the bottom corner with his right foot.
Joao Moutinho’s equaliser meant it wasn’t enough to clinch victory, but Fred’s strike made him just the fifth Brazilian to score for the red half of Manchester.

Kleberson (yikes), Anderson (not much better), Fabio (meh) and Rafael (cult hero).

Fred will certainly be hoping he’s more of a Rafael than Kleberson.
Interestingly United have now dropped 12 points in 13 games under Jose Mourinho against promoted sides, averaging just 1.3 goals in those matches.
They’re not going to challenge for the title with that kind of record.
