Who will be the next players to reach 100 Premier League goals?
As Harry Kane joins the illustrious 100 club, who will be next to join him?
Kane took only 141 games to reach this milestone while it took other greats, such as Sergio Aguero, Thierry Henry and Ian Wright longer to achieve.
The only player in Premier League history to get to 100 league goals quicker than Kane was Alan Shearer as he reached this feat in only 124 matches – but Kane is younger than the Geordie legend.
Below is who we think will be joining the club soon, with a few surprise additions added.
Romelu Lukaku – 97 Getty - ContributorRomelu Lukaku is undoubtedly the closest, and a hat-trick against relegation-fighting Newcastle on Sunday would be enough to see the Belgian join the likes of Kane and Henry in the 100 club.
United’s number nine has plied his trade with two other Premier League clubs in West Brom and Everton where he scored 17 and 68 goals respectively.
Daniel Sturridge – 74 ReutersCan Daniel Sturridge stay fit? That was the question on many Premier League manager’s lips last month but Alan Pardew and West Brom decided to take the chance.
The 28-year-old is a proven goal scorer and showed it in 2013/14 season as he formed the SAS partnership with Luis Suarez where he scored 21 league goals.
With almost a guaranteed starting spot in Pardew’s side, if the former City and Chelsea player can stay fit, then he will surely score another 26 goals.
Olivier Giroud – 73 ReutersOlivier Giroud recently left Arsenal for Chelsea after a five-and-a-half-year stint in North London where he scored 73 league goals.
But after limited playing time this season, and with the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the 31-year-old decided to cut his losses and move to West London as he pushes for a spot in the French World Cup squad.
Giroud will be battling it out against the likes of Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard for a place in the central striking position but if he can secure it then scoring another 27 goals shouldn’t be too big of a task for someone of his ability.
Theo Walcott – 67 Getty - ContributorTheo Walcott joined Everton last month after an 11 year stay at Arsenal after only making six league appearances this season.
Since his move up to Mersyside, Walcott has made a positive start, scoring two goals in his first three games.
Walcott scored 65 league goals whilst playing in North London and would need another 33 league goals to reach the target, but at only 28, he still has time to produce the goal tally but is a sure outsider to top this list.
Alexis Sanchez – 61 ReutersAlexis Sanchez ended speculation about any potential new Arsenal contract last month by joining Man United, and the 29-year-old only needs another 39 league goals to reach 100.
The Chilean joined Arsenal back in 2014 from Barcelona and managed to score 60 league goals in three-and-a-half-years in North London.
Eden Hazard – 66 REUTERSEden Hazard has managed to score 66 league goals for Chelsea since he signed from Lille in 2012 and the 27-year-old will likely reach 100 goals before his Premier League career ends.
The Belgian has started in the central striker position in recent weeks under Antonio Conte and if he continues in this role then it won’t be long before he scores another 34 league goals.
Cristiano Ronaldo – 84 Getty - ContributorIs there one last throw of the dice in the Cristiano Ronaldo-Manchester United love affair? There is certainly interest from both parties but would United part with that much cash for a 33-year-old? We shall see.
But if the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was to move back to Manchester, then he would only need to add a further 16 goals to his 84 goals he scored in his previous stint at United.
Carlos Tevez – 84 Getty Images - GettyIs Carlos Tevez really ending his career with Boca Juniors? No one knows. But a return to the Premier League is never off the cards, if the money is right.
The controversial Argentine played for both Manchester clubs and West Ham in his time in England, scoring 84 league goals.
And with the current spending power of City and United, could the 34-year-old make a shock return and join the Premier League greats? Only time will tell.
Gabriel Agbonlahor – 74 Getty - ContributorGabriel Agbonlahor hasn’t been seen in the Premier League since the 2015/16 season, but with Aston Villa lying 3rd in the Championship, could we be seeing him again in the Premier League next season?
If the 31-year-old is to reach the 100 Premier League goals mark, then he would no doubt have fire Villa to promotion this season as he still needs a whopping 26 goals.
Yakubu – 95 Action Images - ReutersYakubu was a real jovial character for the Premier League and was a proven goal scorer in his time, scoring 95 league goals.
But he retired last year following a hamstring injury for Coventry City. But could the former Nigerian international make one last return and get the five goals he needs? Could a relegation-stricken side take a gamble on his services? Nothing is impossible in the Premier League.
